Asian Weightlifting Championships 2015 are held in Thailand.
The first day of competition (06/09/2015) competed men weighing under 56 kg and women weighing under 48 kg.
Men -56 kg
In this category the leaders from the 2014 World Championships didn't compete (perhaps because of the close dates to the WWC 2015), so the results weren't close to records as we used to see in this category. Though the results were much higher than those of the 2015 European Championships (The Champion of Europe Oleg Sirghi showed 264 kg total, thus, he would be placed 4-th in this competition...) Look at the results of this category (PDF). The results of the medalists are as follows: 1 COLONIA Nestor Landag PHIlILIPPINES 121 + 153 KG 274 2 TRAN Le Quoc Toan VIETNAM 120 + 152 KG 272 3 KRUAITHONG Sinphet THAILAND 122 + 146 KG 268 Watch the attempt of the champion among men (-56 kg). Women -48 kg
Among women the strongest was VUONG Thi Huyen from Vietnam with 190 kg (86+104), HUANG Yuezhen from China was the second with 188 kg (83+105) and KHAMSRI Panida (Thailand) took the bronze medal with 187 kg (80+107). Again, if we compare their results with their European opponents' the champion of Europe Sibel Özkan would be the 5th with her 179 kg. Look through the results of this category (PDF). Today (07/09/15) competed sportsmen in these categories: men (-62 kg), women (-53 & -58 kg).
Men -62 kg
In this category the gold was "sent" to China.
The North Korean world champion Kim Un Guk wasn't participating (as in the case of Om Yun Chol, North Korea doesn't have an equivalent substitude, perhaps, that's why he misses this championship). Anyway another North Korean took the "silver" with 313 kg.
In Kim's absence the Chinese lifter DING Jianjun, who also won bronze medal in Astana (with 312 kg), won the competition easily (I don't anyway mean that he did an easy job). His advantage over the silver medalist was 16 kg.
The medalists in this category are: 1 DING Jianjun CHINA 143 + 170 KG 313
2 SIN Chol Bom PRK 128 + 169 KG 297
3 ASKARI Majid ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of IRAN 130 + 166 KG 296
Comparing these results with those from the EWC, again we see, that the Champion of Europe Valentin Hristov would be placed in the 4th position with his 295 kg. The results of this category (PDF)

Women -53 kg
There wasn't a tough battle for gold and silver medals in this category either, but there were two athletes with the same result: NGUYEN Thi Thuy and SUTANAN Kittima (both with 196 kg).
Should be mentionned, that only six athletes were competing.
A medal contender YU Yuanyuan from China didn't manage to lift even an attempt in the snatch.
Yulia Paratova (the Champion of Europe in this category) would be placed in the 3rd place.
The medalists are as follows: 1 DIAZ Hidilyn Francisco PHILIPPINES 96 + 118 KG 214 2 KIM Su Ryon PRK 95 + 113 KG 208
3 NGUYEN Thi Thuy VIETNAM 84 + 112 KG 196

Women -58 kg
Only one kg was the difference between gold and silver medals in this category.
This is the only category so far, where the champion lifted less kgs than the Champion of Europe, thus, Boyanka Kostova from Azerbaijan would be placed first with her 246 kg.
1 LI Ping CHINA 100 +126 KG 226
2 SRISURAT Sukanya THAILAND 104 +121 KG 225
3 SADYKOVA Assem KAZAKHSTAN 95 + 122 KG 217
All the comparisons done have virtual character...
Thanks for the attention.
