The first Champ of the World Weightlifting Championships 2015 is already known!
These days a major weightlifting contest is held in the US. World Weightlifting Championships have returned to the US after 40 years! The Game started beautifully as everything is organized just in perfect order.
The competitions started on 20th of November. Today were competing men in the category under 56 kg.
The rivalry was fierce and the Gold was taken not without the help of own weights.
Several athletes were aiming the first place this time. The Olympic Champion and then already two times World Champ Om Yun Chol defended his title once again, becomingmthree times World Champion. Important statistics: he is the only lifter since Halil Mutlu to take the World title 3 times in a row!
The competition's results were very much alike the ones of the WWC 2014 when Om failed the snatch but managed to win anyway (although this time there was no fail as 131 is no way a fail, lol ).

Om Yun Chol, author - unknown Mutlu's 305 kg world record in total still stands.
How this happened?
The very first thing to mention is the fact that two world records were broken. In the snatch Halil Mutlu's 138 was replaced by 139 kg set by Wu Jingbao. In clean and jerk the North Korean machine managed to lift 171 kg, breaking his own 170 kg record set at the 2014 Asian Games. The leaders' battle could be even more offensive (in the means of lifting more) if all of them were successful. Unfortunately one of the Chinese (Long Qingquan) failed all three attempts in the snatch (when attempting to 131 kg) and didn't appear in clean and jerk.
Among the leaders the first to appear on the stage was Om who snatched 127 kg to secure himself from a fail. His second attempt was successful too (131 kg) and this was already a progress as he managed to lift 128 in Almaty. He then tried to lift 133, but didn't succeed.
Arli Chontey from Kazakhstan was successful enough to take the silver with his 132 kg, staying far behind the Chinese athlete Wu Jingbao who snatched 139 kg breaking the 14 year old record.
In clean and jerk Om showed all his might and was successful in taking the victory clean and jerking 165 kg first (in order to secure the gold in this exercise) and then 170 to take the overall gold with the help of own weight factor. He gained total of 302 kg as much as the Chinese athlete did.
Wu Jingbao clean and jerked 160 then 163 kg to take the silvers.
Arli Chontey wasn't able to lift 150, so he stayed with no overall medal. Letting Thach Kim Tuan to achieve the bronze medal with his 287 kgs.
